Kariba Petrified Tree
The old twisted trees on Lake Kariba are very well known.
A legacy from the flooding of the lake in the late 1950's, they have become petrified and are often hard as steel. They have been know to puncture the steel hulls of boats.
This one caught my eye while we were on a day trip to Sama Karuma island, not far from the harbour.
Lake Kariba is the largest man made lake in the world.
